or next-to-nothing. Like, when I think of these arguments, it's mostly been about hypothetical/theoretical stuff (e.g. "what would you do in some parallel universe where you had access to kids" or "assuming this relationship were going to last rather than blow up almost immediately over money issues, how many kids would we have") or procedural/meta stuff (e.g. arguing about how people argue).
I think it's because there's just not a lot of substantive stuff to work on together with people these days. And a lot of this is because (1) when relations between the sexes collapsed, it took a lot of other stuff with it; e.g. it made it impossible for men to get along harmoniously because they fight over the proper way to conduct oneself with regard to chicks, which it's impossible to get right when chicks are allowed and encouraged by the feminist order to run around feral; and (2) people's interests just seem to diverge more than they used to, possibly partly because we get kicked out of most collaborative communities these days, or those communities get shut down; and because people don't really do a lot of stuff together in meatspace anymore.
So what we're left is basically situations where people get in arguments over nothing, because there's not really any driving force distracting from petty quarrels; there's no superordinate goal that would make them forget about small disagreements or put them aside or resolve them or whatever, to focus on something more important that gives pleasure that outweighs the feeling of disgruntlement that seems to be everywhere.
Basically, there's just not a lot to tie us together anymore. So then, everything becomes a blame game about how stuff got to be this way, and whose fault it is that it's still this way. But we can't join together to attack the real enemy, so we just have to attack one another. There ends up being a massive amount of infighting.
Some movements were always prone to infighting; e.g. the manosphere always had racial infighting for instance that would flare up now and then. Libertarians always had infighting too (I can't even remember what about, now; I think it had to do probably with disputes about the best use of resources, how to attract public support, etc.) But, I just feel like there are more arguments about nothing these days, and that it's easier to feel resentful about it because there's nothing else to focus on. There's not really any great point to maintaining a friendship or family relationship anymore because we have nothing to use that relationship in pursuit of; we don't have a lot of mutually enjoyable activities or anything like that, or any topics of interest to discuss about stuff we can help one another with or whatnot.
There's just a bunch of emptiness. It kinda reminds me of being in a long-distance relationship or something, where you have to wait months before you can get together, and you're not sure if you're going to get to be together, and you don't totally trust each other, etc. and you don't really have a lot of new stuff to talk about necessarily from day to day, so tensions flare up.
Theoretically, we should be in a state of peace when we've retreated behind defensible borders and dropped potentially stressful and risky activities. Not really, though; there actually ends up being more stress in some ways, when you have not a lot to work on or focus on.
Even the betabuxx has to acknowledge at this point that he's basically like Trevor from Idiocracy. The future is pretty bleak, and there's not much to do while we're waiting for that future to arrive than to fight with one another about petty shit.
Here's an example; there can be a situation where someone knows where you stand on issue X, e.g. that you're against feminism, but then they're like, "Oh, now you seem to be contradicting yourself and supporting feminism" when they should probably know better than to think that. It would be kind of irrelevant if we were still working toward some antifeminist cause; then actions would speak louder than words, and there would be no doubt where anyone stands, but when we're just standing still, not doing anything, it's easy to be like, "Oh, now you've offended against my ideology by your words" even though it doesn't even really matter since none of us have any power anyway.
But if nobody involved has any power, then it's easy to just be like, "Fuck this friendship" because you can't even unite your power to accomplish anything anyway. So, then you end up by yourself, which is not all that comfortable of a situation because isolation kinda sucks.
And this is what happens when you get defeated. It's not pretty and it's not fun. You can't just live a minimalistic life, staying out of the way and not messing with the powers that be, and be like, "Cool, now I'm left alone to do what I want, and hang out with my friends." Nope, you're gonna lose your friends too.
